Helmcamp Memorial Scholarship Fund

Following the passing of Richard Helmcamp in 2022, Steve Kleiber (a CHS and Golden Pride graduate) was instrumental in setting up, and leading the initial campaign for, the Helmcamp Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Cleburne Education Foundation. Kleiber and his committee, which included Candy Bawcombe, Paige Harris, Monty and Janet Helmcamp, Justin Hewlett, Kerry Jones, and Amber Witte, raised contributions in excess of $85,000. The first two Helmcamp scholarships were awarded in May 2023 for a total of $5,000.

Further donations to the fund will be accepted at the May 18, 2024 premiere of the “Helmcamp” Concerto – this event has passed, but it’s NEVER too late to donate to the fund!
