Jason Jones (CHS ’94)
is currently in his 18th year as Director of Bands for Cleburne High School and his 25th year as a music educator. Prior to that, he served as Associate Director of Bands at Aledo High School for six years and Assistant Director at Aledo Middle School for one year. Jones oversees the Golden Pride Marching Band, Wind Symphony, and Jazz Band. He also assists with Symphonic Winds, WMS Bands, and supervises all band programs in Cleburne ISD. Ensembles under his direction have received numerous UIL Sweepstakes, top awards from various music festivals, and was named the ”Best of the Best” teachers in Johnson County in 2021. Jones received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from the University of Texas in Arlington where he was a member of the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Trumpet Choir, and Brass Quintet. Jones has performed in numerous groups around the area as a trumpeter, including The Greater Cleburne Carnegie Players summer musicals and The Brazos Chamber Orchestra. His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Jazz Educators Association, and National Association of Music Educators. In his spare time, Mr. Jones enjoys spending time with his wife, Courtnay, their son Jay, 4 dogs and 1 cat.
