Original Information

The premiere of the Helmcamp Concerto will be held at 7:00 p.m. on May 18, 2024 in the newly-renovated 1800-seat Don Smith Performing Arts Center at Cleburne High School, 850 N Nolan River Road, Cleburne, TX

The event will be free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted for the benefit of the Helmcamp Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The current Golden Pride of Cleburne High will perform, under the direction of Jason Jones, director of Bands, with soloists Candy Bawcombe (piano), James Sims (trumpet), and Craig McKennon (trumpet). The composer, Kerry Nelson Jones, is expecting to play in the tuba section. The soloists for this piece last performed together 50 years ago.

• Selections from Les Misérables, Claude-Michel Schönberg (1944-)
